This 3-disc set marks the first-ever release of two previously unissued soundboard recordings from Todd Rundgren’s 1989 "Nearly Human" North American tour. Discs 1 and 2 feature the August 3, 1989, performance at The Living Room in Providence, Rhode Island, while Disc 3 contains the performance from the previous day, August 2, in New Haven, Connecticut—both captured in pristine-quality stereo soundboard audio. Although neither show is complete (both contain minor cuts), the set also includes a high-quality recording of the soundcheck from the Providence show. This tour, which saw Todd return to live performance after a four-year hiatus from his solo career, is notable for the lavish, large-scale ensemble—featuring over ten musicians—that backed him. While other shows from this tour, such as those at the Ritz in New York and in Japan, have seen official release, these two performances—sourced from leaked multitrack recordings—are highly recommended and an absolute must-hear!
