A complete recording of the October 3rd Yokohama show—part of the 2001 Japan tour supporting the albums *Kid A* and *Amnesiac*—captured from the front row with superb sound quality and an immersive atmosphere!
The audio quality rivals a soundboard recording! The energy on this night was the highest of the entire tour, with all the band members smiling throughout their performance—it was a truly happy day! True to form when they're in high spirits, they made a few slip-ups: Jonny started "In Limbo" too early and had to restart; during "No Surprises," Thom sang the final lyrics in the middle of the song, then cleared his throat with a laugh while the music was still playing. He also made a mistake on "Talk Show Host" and tried to cover it up by whistling! The crowd roared with cheers, and Thom beamed with a huge smile. The sense of unity was so strong that they even altered the originally planned setlist! Review from a specialized music magazine:
A high-quality audience recording. Since this show was one of the only two Japanese dates originally announced—specifically Yokohama and Osaka—the crowd’s enthusiasm was palpable, creating a fantastic atmosphere in the venue. Great care was taken with the sound quality, allowing for a stress-free and comfortable listening experience. The sampled radio broadcast used for the opening featured a news report on "Mad Cow Disease"; the timeliness of the clip drew a huge roar of excitement from the crowd. There was a lighthearted vibe that allowed the band to simply brush off any mistakes; it instilled a strange sense of reassurance—a reminder that "Radiohead are human, too, and bound to make errors." The intro leading into the final song of the main set was R.E.M.’s "It’s the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)." The second encore was originally slated to feature "The Tourist" and "The Thief," but the band swapped them for "Karma Police" and "Street Spirit." While the actual choices were certainly not bad—both are massive hits in the West that always energize a live crowd—the band likely made the switch as a special treat for the audience. It was a performance filled with smiles from start to finish, and the rapport with the crowd was the best of the entire tour.
