Following the two Tokyo Dome shows on Paul McCartney's 2018 Japan Tour, the special performance held at Ryogoku Kokugikan on November 5th is now available in a 3-disc set! This release includes a complete recording of the concert across two CDs, plus a third CD featuring the soundcheck from that day. While Paul has performed at the Budokan in the past, this tour marked his debut at the Ryogoku Kokugikan—the sacred home of sumo wrestling. With a smaller capacity than the Budokan, the show offered a rare chance to see Paul up close; tickets sold out instantly, making it a highly coveted, premium concert event. This release captures that historic first Kokugikan performance in its entirety using a top-tier, high-spec live recording. Unlike massive arenas, the sound here boasts distinct definition and exceptional clarity while retaining powerful impact—delivering quality that rivals a professional soundboard recording. Additionally, the soundcheck from that day is included, sourced directly from the venue's monitor feed (soundboard quality). While the main concert featured no songs debuted exclusively for that night, the soundcheck showcased a wealth of rare tracks not played during the actual show. The setlist included Paul's favorite covers, "One After 909" and "Coming Up," as well as "I Don't Know" from his latest album. The recording has been digitally remastered to eliminate the flat tone and noise characteristic of in-ear monitor feeds, ensuring the best possible audio quality.
