A complete, crystal-clear, high-fidelity recording of the Hiroshima show from October 7, 2002 (the 9th day of the tour)!! Liam’s vocals come through perfectly!! He sounds to be in great form, and the overall performance is excellent!!
(Review from a specialized music magazine)
Despite being an audience recording, the sound quality is remarkably high. The balance between the vocals and the instrumentation is superb, capturing even the finest details. There is a low-frequency sound audible from the left speaker throughout; while one might initially mistake it for noise, it appears to be the sound of audience members clapping near the recording position. All in all, it is a high-quality release, virtually free of any noise or skips. And given this exceptional sound quality, let me state right away: this is a purchase you won’t regret.
As for the performance itself—while this Hiroshima show didn’t garner much attention during the Japan tour, that certainly doesn’t mean it was lacking in quality. Judging by this recording, that is far from the case. This performance is arguably the most satisfying of the entire tour, offering a consistently reliable and enjoyable listening experience. "The Hindu Times," which kicks things off, is highly recommended—in fact, it’s the standout moment of the Japan tour. The beautiful vocal harmonies between the brothers are a must-hear; if you listen closely to the chorus, you’ll notice Liam adding some subtle variations. "Morning Glory" is another highlight, featuring equally superb harmonies. It’s incredibly cool when Liam shouts "Come On!" toward the end, triggering an immediate roar from the audience, and Noel’s electric guitar solo in the finale is absolutely sharp. What’s particularly striking about this show is how perfectly in sync Liam and Noel are—more so than ever—bringing a vibrant energy to every single song.
This holds true not just for the aforementioned "The Hindu Times" and "Morning Glory," but for the entire set, resulting in a performance that truly draws the listener in. The audience’s contribution—limited to cheers and rhythmic clapping—complements the relaxed atmosphere that permeates the venue from start to finish. If I could have experienced a show like this, I would have flown to Hiroshima myself; listening to this recording, I can’t help but feel a twinge of regret that I wasn’t there. As for technical details, there are two instances of minor noise, though nothing distracting enough to spoil the experience. I encourage you to fully immerse yourself in this fantastic live performance—it’s a recording well worth enjoying as a music CD.
