This release features a live performance in Vienna by "WE WANT MILES!"—a tribute group led by Marcus Miller and composed of Miles Davis alumni, formed to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Miles's birth. The recording is a remastered version of a high-quality audience tape. As a tribute to Miles Davis, the setlist consists entirely of tracks from his albums, and the spoken interludes include reminiscences about Miles from his lifetime; consequently, all speeches are included uncut. While the same label has released a recording of the group's performance at the North Sea Jazz Festival from the same period, that release (SGF-00633)—which boasts top-tier audio and visual quality—is the recommended starting point for newcomers. However, due to the nature of the festival setting, that setlist is condensed and omits tracks such as "AIDA," "HANNIBAL," and "TUTU." Therefore, this release is an essential acquisition for seasoned Miles aficionados.
