Following the joint tour by Jeff and Eric last year and their annual collaborations with Steve Winwood, the 2010 joint tour kicked off on February 13th at The O2 Arena in London—famous as the site of the Led Zeppelin reunion. This recording captures that opening night performance. A major highlight is hearing the sound resulting from the significant lineup changes in Jeff's band. You can also sense that Jeff and Eric have really settled into the rhythm of these joint shows; having watched the video footage, I was struck by how truly relaxed and at ease they appear while performing. As for the content, it is a magnificent concert that needs no introduction, featuring a setlist packed with highlights that blend classic hits with newer material. Regarding sound quality: although it is an audience recording, there is no muddiness, and the instrumental balance is excellent—a testament to the high-quality recording equipment used. Jeff is reportedly coming to Japan in April, but with this release, you can get a head start on enjoying the latest iteration of his band, as well as Eric’s guitar work, which is absolutely superb in 2010.
