After a near-fatal car accident in the late 1970s, Eno decided that his "rock 'n' roll lifestyle" had to change; he completely abandoned his previous "quirky pop" style and largely stopped singing altogether. Then, in 1991, after revisiting vocal pop tunes for a collaborative album with John Cale, he announced plans to release a vocal album of his own. However, it was clear that Eno’s vocal antics were unlike anything else in the rock world; the resulting material was ill-suited to the musical style, and the lyrics were almost entirely erotic. Although the release process was already underway—with promotional cassettes even circulating among music journalists—Eno ultimately pulled the plug, deciding he simply didn't want to put it out. This release presents that unreleased album, mastered directly from one of those original promotional cassettes.
