The "Necromancer" series—which reissues rare titles from niche, collector-run labels using official master recordings—now features "Headless Hawk," one of the premier collector labels in the jazz world. These rare titles are being reintroduced at an accessible price point, complete with a special reissue emblem and newly designed back cover art.

This live recording captures a performance by the band of Brian Blade—a rising star at the time of the 2010 New Orleans Jazz Festival. Blade was then the most sought-after drummer in jazz, frequently tapped for sessions by legends ranging from Wayne Shorter to Chick Corea and John McLaughlin. The sound quality, sourced from a soundboard, is exceptional, making this an accessible listen even for those new to his work. As Blade has also released solo material on the ECM label, this recording is highly recommended for fans of the ECM sound.
