In recent years, Brad Mehldau has become well-known for his solo piano performances, often featuring rock and pop songs. This release, however, showcases him in his element as a jazz pianist, performing live with his trio. While it may lack a wide stereo soundstage, the soundboard recording offers exceptional depth and ultra-high audio quality. For jazz fans, Mehldau needs no introduction—this recording allows you to enjoy his latest trio performance in superb fidelity. It is an absolute must-listen. For those who discovered Mehldau through his recent solo piano interpretations of rock and pop tracks, his performance of The Beatles' "And I Love Her"—at once delicate and profoundly substantial—is essential listening.
