This is a recording of a fiery live performance by the eternal "Blues Boy," B.B. King, captured on July 23rd at the Festival Blues Passions in Cognac, France (held from July 21st to 26th). He delivers a superb, energetic guitar performance that truly lives up to his title, "King of the Blues." The setlist includes hits like "Rock Me Baby" and "The Thrill Is Gone," as well as "When Love Comes To Town"—his 1988 collaboration with U2—eliciting an enthusiastic response from the crowd. Although B.B. King is nearing 84 years of age, he remains in the midst of touring and is reportedly traveling the globe for performances through 2010. Regarding sound quality: despite being an audience recording, it is remarkably clear and free of muddiness, allowing the listener to fully enjoy this top-notch performance. One can only hope to see him perform in Japan with his guitar, Lucille, someday.
