This recording captures what turned out to be the final live performance by Zwan. While the audio is from the NUKE Festival on June 13, 2003, this show became their last hurrah after a series of scheduled summer dates—including an appearance at Fuji Rock—were abruptly cancelled. Although the band’s lifespan was brief—lasting only about two years starting in 2001—there is no denying their achievement as pioneers of the post-grunge era. Surprisingly, their live performances were rich in color; rather than the angst, despair, and chaos associated with the grunge period, they exuded a sense of hope.
