This release captures the Rainbow performance from their 1995 Japan tour, recorded on November 20 at the Kyushu Koseinenkin Kaikan in Kokura, Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, Japan. It documents a live show by the reformed Rainbow following Ritchie Blackmore's departure from Deep Purple. Aside from Ritchie, the band members were largely unknown, yet their musical prowess was impeccable; vocalist Dougie White, in particular, demonstrated genuine talent, skillfully adapting his singing style to suit the material and perfectly complementing Ritchie’s guitar work. The performance was highly polished throughout, with Ritchie himself playing at the top of his game—delivering superb live improvisations and arrangements that made for a truly captivating show. As a bonus, the release includes five tracks from a Stockholm concert during the European tour that preceded the Japan tour; these are sourced from a soundboard (SBD) recording. While the audio is an audience recording, the sound quality is excellent—stable, immersive, and direct—allowing listeners to enjoy a clear and powerful live experience.
