Paul Weller, a titan of the UK rock scene who remains at the forefront of the industry, returns to Japan for the first time in two years to tour in support of his album *A Kind Revolution*! This release features complete recordings from the 2018 Japan tour—specifically the Osaka show on January 19th and the Tokyo shows on January 22nd and 23rd—captured in superb, ultra-high-fidelity sound that delivers incredible impact and a vivid sense of presence.
The audio quality is top-notch, perfectly recreating the excitement of the live shows with rich, realistic vocals and instrumentation, along with excellent stereo imaging. You can truly feel the atmosphere and the sense of unity between the artist and the audience.
Naturally, the release benefits from the meticulous mastering characteristic of the Sylph label; it is an outstanding product that is guaranteed to get you fired up.
The tour setlist features a parade of classic solo tracks alongside a generous selection of songs from The Jam and The Style Council, with a first encore performed as an acoustic set. The opening night in Osaka included four songs from the new album, plus rotating tracks such as "Above the Clouds," "Suzie's Room," "A Town Called Malice," "Monday," and "English Rose." True to form for an Osaka crowd, the fans were fired up from start to finish, and the artist and band delivered a spirited, high-energy performance. The set spanned 28 songs and two hours—a must-listen show that delighted fans with the long-awaited return of "A Town Called Malice" to the Osaka stage.
The subsequent Tokyo shows featured five songs from the new album, as well as live takes of five tracks performed exclusively on that night: "The Weaver," "She! - The Impossible Idea," "Gravity," "All on a Misty Morning," and "Hopper." With rotating tracks like "The Changingman" and "Come On / Let's Go" also making appearances, the performance ran for 30 songs and two hours and ten minutes—the longest show of the tour and an electrifying, essential listen. The final Tokyo show features four new songs, plus live takes of "Let It Be Me," "That's Entertainment," and "Foot of the Mountain"—tracks performed exclusively on this night! With a rotating setlist that includes eleven songs from The Jam and The Style Council—such as "The Eton Rifles" and "A Town Called Malice"—this is a killer show that long-time fans will absolutely love! It is a thrilling, must-hear performance spanning 29 songs and two hours! Highlights include the cool, groovy band jam during "Into Tomorrow," as well as staples performed at every show like "My Ever Changing Moods," "Have You Ever Had It Blue," "Man in the Corner Shop," "Shout to the Top," and "Start!"—all offering surprises unique to this tour!
Every show is packed with highlights! For fans, hearing all three performances is a must! The Sylph label presents the definitive release covering the Osaka and Tokyo shows, featuring beautiful artwork and superb sound quality! We guarantee a blissful listening experience!
A special value 3-show set covering Osaka, Tokyo Day 1, and Tokyo Day 2 is also available!
As a set-exclusive bonus, it includes a DVD with a runtime of 2 hours and 12 minutes, packed with content such as TV appearances promoting the album, a production documentary, rare footage of a one-off full acoustic concert, Tokyo show footage, and more! This premium item utilizes new technology to achieve high picture quality rivaling Blu-ray and features mastered audio!
