A complete recording of the Tokyo show on September 28, 2002 (the third night), captured in exceptionally high sound quality!!
Offering the best audio quality of all the Tokyo shows—complete with the immersive atmosphere of the crowd singing along—this release is highly recommended for any Oasis fan!!
As for the setlist, "She’s Electric" has been dropped and replaced by an acoustic, solo performance of "Wonderwall" by Noel!! Additionally, the show concludes with "Champagne Supernova."
Of the four Tokyo performances, this was the best one!
[Review from a music magazine]
The audience was in great form that night; the show kicked off with a storm of cheers from the very first notes, and the high-energy atmosphere remained palpable throughout the entire performance. After the performance of "Hung In A Bad Place," Noel responded with a "Thank you," which triggered an excited roar from the crowd; he immediately followed up with "Yes, yes, yes"—a gesture that showed him calming the audience down, clearly demonstrating that the band was tuned into the crowd's energy and actively engaging with it.
From "Morning Glory" onwards, Liam began swapping his microphones frequently—likely an attempt to prevent the feedback issues that had plagued almost every performance over the previous two nights. It paid off: "Stop Crying Your Heart Out," which had suffered from feedback during the second night, was delivered perfectly this time. As the song ended, Noel called out, "Thank you very much," and the expression captured on the big screen revealed a clearly satisfied smile.
A highlight of the night was "Cigarettes & Alcohol." With its crisp, sharp instrumentation, Liam’s cool vocals, and the roar of the crowd all coming together, it was an incredibly cool performance.
"Wonderwall"—which replaced "She’s Electric" in the setlist—was performed as an acoustic number by Noel. It featured a slightly different arrangement than previous versions, resulting in a beautiful, melancholic rendition.
Following "Force Of Nature," the venue erupted in a wave of laughter and applause. This was a reaction to Gem and Andy following Noel’s lead by taking a drink from their own bottles of Evian. The audience cheered at the sight of Noel looking momentarily bewildered, as if to ask, "What just happened?"
For the sake of completeness, it’s worth noting that the sound balance was a bit unstable during the intro of "Fuckin’ In The Bushes," as well as during "The Hindu Times" and "Morning Glory." While these instances were minor and didn't significantly detract from the overall experience, they are worth mentioning. On this record, the focus is on the concert atmosphere, which is charged with the intense excitement of the audience.
The singalongs during tracks like "Live Forever," "Wonderwall," "Don’t Look Back In Anger," and "Acquiesce"—as well as the outro of "Champagne Supernova"—are truly magnificent and moving.
The sound of feet stomping on the floor during the encore, combined with the enthusiastic chants of "Oasis!", clearly shows an even greater level of energy compared to the band’s past performances in Japan.
It surely left an impression on the band, proving that the typically reserved Japanese audience is, in fact, quite something else.
