This release captures the Jimi Hendrix Experience performing live at the Lorensberg Circus in Gothenburg, Sweden, on January 8, 1969. This tour took place in early 1969, following the October 1968 release of *Electric Ladyland*, a masterpiece that remains a landmark in rock history. As bassist Noel Redding would leave the group in June 1969, this marked the final European tour for the original Experience lineup; furthermore, with Hendrix going on to form Band of Gypsys in the autumn of 1969, this recording documents a pivotal moment in his career. While the band's energy level might feel slightly subdued at times, the performances themselves are solid and highly polished. A distinctive feature of this release is that the show opens with "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)." Although it is an audience recording, the sound quality offers a great sense of atmosphere and is very easy to listen to. The mix is generally good; despite some minor issues—such as a cut-out in one section and occasional instability—the overall listening experience is very steady. Bonus tracks include a live performance from the 1968 European tour at Tivolis Koncersal in Copenhagen, Denmark.
