This recording captures Jimi Hendrix's first and only Hawaii concert, held on August 1, 1970, at the Honolulu International Centre on Oahu. While the July 30th performance at Haleakala Crater is the more famous of his Hawaii shows, this release documents the final performance—the second of only two concerts he played there. Perhaps because it was his first time in Hawaii, he plays with intense energy right from the start. Although this is an audience recording and not a complete show, it is a highly rare find. While the recording position seems somewhat distant, the power of Jimi's performance is clearly captured. With such excellent content, this is a must-have item for collectors.
