This release captures the live performance from October 29, 1975, at Sunpu Kaikan in Shizuoka—part of the "There's One in Every Crowd" Japan Tour (his second tour of the country). As this was his first-ever performance in Shizuoka, the energy from both the audience and Eric Clapton himself is incredibly high. Following the promoter's announcement, Clapton simply says "Hello," and once the band finishes tuning and launches into "Layla," the venue's excitement hits a fever pitch. The band is clearly fired up, allowing listeners to enjoy Clapton’s relaxed, expressive playing; notably, the performance includes a percussion solo during "Badge"—a rarity for an EC concert. Regarding sound quality: while it is an audience recording with some slight background noise, it is not distracting. Each instrument is clearly captured, and because the venue wasn't a massive arena, the sound is free of muddiness and offers decent clarity, making for a very enjoyable listening experience. There are a few brief moments where the volume dips slightly, but it recovers immediately, so it poses no real issue. Most previously released recordings from his early Japan tours were from Tokyo or Osaka, making this the first-ever recording from a Shizuoka show. It is an essential addition for any collector.
