This recording captures the concert held on December 10, 1990, at Nagoya Rainbow Hall—a venue renowned for its excellent acoustics—marking Eric Clapton's eighth tour of Japan. The sound quality is so impressive that it is hard to believe the recording dates back two decades; from the very beginning, the performance is a showcase of Clapton at his absolute best. Kicking off with "Pretending"—the opening track of his then-new album *Journeyman*—the show immediately ignites the crowd's excitement, and the band is clearly in high spirits. Eric himself is in superb form, delivering spirited guitar work throughout. The setlist features a significant number of tracks from *Journeyman*—including "Bad Love," "Runnin' on Faith," "No Alibis," "Old Love," and "Before You Accuse Me"—a rarity for his Japan tours at the time. Overall, it is a remarkably cohesive concert, with the final stretch featuring "Crossroads" and "Sunshine of Your Love" being nothing short of magnificent. Although this is an audience recording, the balance of instruments, the sense of presence, and the clarity of sound offer a level of quality that defies the fact that it was recorded twenty years ago.
