ELVIS COSTELLO & NICK LOWE / GAMH (2CDR)

Recorded live at the special "Costello Sings Lowe / Nick Sings Elvis" concert at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, October 1, 2010 (Early Show).

This concert is an annual benefit concert held by Austin Delone, known to fans for his work with Nick Lowe and as a member of Costello's 1987 Japan tour band, to support a fund established for patients suffering from the same rare disease as his son, Richard. The 2010 edition was, quite simply, "Costello Sings Lowe / Nick Sings Elvis"! Nick Lowe sang Costello's hit songs, and Costello sang Nick's hit songs, each with their own interpretation and new arrangements. The excitement of that day is compiled from a digital audience master, creating a highly immersive experience as if you were actually there. Costello's rendition of Nick's classic "Cruel to Be Kind," and the final song, "(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love & Understanding?", were particularly moving.
