The "Necromancer" series—which reissues rare titles from handmade, collector-focused labels using official master recordings—now features "Headless Hawk," one of the premier labels for jazz collectors. These rare titles are being reintroduced at an accessible price point, complete with a new reissue emblem and updated back-cover artwork.
This release captures a live soundboard performance by the duo of Chick Corea and Gary Burton, who have collaborated many times over the years. The chemistry between Chick’s driving, energetic piano and Burton’s vibraphone is exceptional. The set is packed with highlights, including a rendition of The Beatles’ "Eleanor Rigby" and Chick’s own Spanish-influenced classic, "La Fiesta." The arrangement of "Eleanor Rigby" is truly superb—worth the price of admission all on its own.
