Ray Gillen was hastily brought in to replace Glenn Hughes—the vocalist fired after the shortest tenure in the band's history. By this show—the eighth since Hughes's departure—the band had achieved a high level of cohesion and delivered a magnificent performance. Listeners can enjoy a stellar showcase from the young, talented vocalist Ray Gillen; furthermore, with the band operating so stably, the other members also deliver high-energy individual performances, making this a concert packed with highlights. The release also includes six "best take" bonus tracks from the April 18 San Antonio show, sourced from a soundboard recording.
