A complete recording of the April 17, 2012, concert at Nippon Seinenkan—the first of a three-night run in Tokyo during YES's 2012 Japan tour—captured via an ultra-high-quality audience recording. This release captures the momentous opening night of the band’s first Japan tour in nine years, presented in superb sound quality derived from the label’s original high-quality masters, which have undergone 24-bit digital remastering. The tour features the *Drama*-era lineup—Chris Squire, Steve Howe, Alan White, and Geoff Downes—and the setlist offers a comprehensive overview of the band’s 40-plus-year history. It spans everything from 1970s staples like "Starship Trooper" and "Roundabout" to the 1980s hit "Owner of a Lonely Heart," as well as the title suite from their latest album, *Fly From Here*. Of particular note is lead vocalist Jon Davison, who stepped in on short notice to replace Benoît David; his high-pitched vocals—reminiscent of a young Jon Anderson—and his stage presence are truly impressive, sure to satisfy even long-time fans. The rotating track for this particular performance was "Heart of the Sunrise," while Steve Howe’s second solo segment featured a rendition of "Laughing with Larry."
