Y&T, led by the "living national treasure" of the guitar, Dave Meniketti, toured Japan in support of *Facemelter*—their first new studio album in thirteen years. Although the tour was overshadowed by the sad news of Phil Kennemore's passing just prior to their arrival in Japan, substitute bassist Brad Lang stepped up admirably, delivering a blistering performance that stands toe-to-toe with the band's legacy. Dave’s guitar work is as magnificent as ever; his superb tone and deeply emotive, soaring playing are nothing short of breathtaking—a truly moving experience! The setlist offers incredible variety, featuring five tracks from the new album, classic hits like "Black Tiger" and "Forever," and rare gems such as "Hard Times" and "Lonely Side of Town." His impassioned performance on "I Believe in You" is absolutely spine-tingling, and the tribute paid to Phil before "If You Want Me" is sure to bring a tear to your eye. A major highlight of the night came after the show had officially ended: fueled by the passionate cheers of the Osaka crowd, the band returned for an unscheduled second encore—a delightful surprise! They delivered powerful renditions of "Open Fire" and "Winds of Change," making this another truly special Osaka show.
