The wait is over—here is the fifth release from the CRIOS label.
This features the "Sonisphere Festival," where Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax came together to launch the "Big 4" tour. These four bands shared the same stage—and while it was widely assumed they would never actually play together, a miracle occurred during Metallica's set when they all joined forces for "Am I Evil?" The Sofia, Bulgaria show—the sixth stop on the "Sonisphere Festival" tour that kicked off in Knebworth, UK—was filmed for a movie, resulting in a succession of miracles that fans will absolutely cherish.
For this release, Cryos has captured the audio directly in Linear PCM format from the movie's master source, preserving the essence of that historic night. Furthermore, the label’s proprietary 24-bit Pro Mastering significantly improves the dynamic range—correcting the flat characteristics often found in soundboard recordings. The meticulous sound engineering, tailored specifically for CD, is sure to astound everyone.
Next up is a standalone release featuring Slayer from "The Big 4" series.
This recording captures their performance at "Rock am Ring 2010" in Eifel, Germany—held just two weeks prior to the Sonisphere Festival—sourced directly from the broadcast master in full Linear PCM audio. Naturally, the mastering follows the same rigorous CD-optimized process; get ready for some serious headbanging.
As a pillar of "The Big 4," Slayer has remained true to their unique thrash metal stance since forming in 1981—maintaining their integrity for 29 years and truly earning the title of "Kings."
While the Sonisphere Festival recording was limited to a four-hour broadcast slot—meaning Slayer's set was condensed to ten songs (though the performance itself was superb)—this release goes above and beyond by including the complete "Rock am Ring" set from just 17 days earlier. It’s an embarrassment of riches that will leave you headbanging until your neck gives out!
On top of all that, the release includes the miraculous "Big 4" collaboration from the Sonisphere Festival: starting with James introducing the bands during Metallica's set, it features the entire lineup delivering a breathtaking rendition of "Am I Evil?"
This is a must-have release that fans will be clamoring for.
