This release features a recording of the Scorpions' performance at the Hippodrome in Paris, France, on March 28, 1979, during their European tour. It captures a live show from the period when Michael Schenker had rejoined the band after a six-year absence. This tour served as the promotional run for the *Lovedrive* album; however, since Michael departed the band again in May 1979, there are very few live recordings featuring this specific lineup. Coming right after the release of the new album, the overall performance is excellent—Michael is in top form, playing with high energy and intensity. As a bonus track, the release includes a soundboard recording of a concert in Chicago featuring Matthias Jabs, the guitarist who joined after Michael's departure. While the recording is audience-sourced—exhibiting some of the characteristics and slight instability typical of the era—it offers impressive clarity and a direct feel, allowing for a highly enjoyable, high-quality listening experience.
