This release documents the afternoon show on December 16, 1976—the final day of Rainbow's first-ever tour of Japan ("Rising Japan Tour 1976"). Although this afternoon show was not originally scheduled, the band played with palpable intensity. Despite being the ninth date of the tour, the performance is incredibly powerful and the band's motivation is high; in fact, it conveys a raw energy and a specific atmosphere unique to that era—qualities that come through more directly here than in the evening show (which was the "final" performance in the literal sense). Four tracks from the 1976 US tour (Chicago show) are included as bonus tracks. The audio is an audience recording that captures a very direct sound; it delivers the kind of "authentic hard rock" experience possible only with recordings from that era, offering high sound quality, immense power, and a vivid sense of being there.
