Nine Inch Nails—led by the immensely charismatic Trent Reznor, one of the greatest talents in the rock scene—returns to Japan for the first time in about two years, bringing with them a brand-new release! This collection features complete, high-fidelity recordings from their highly acclaimed 2007 Japan tour: the Tokyo show on May 20th (the third night) and both Osaka shows on May 23rd and 24th. The sound quality is exceptional, capturing the full intensity and immersive atmosphere of the live experience!
The Osaka recordings, in particular, are top-tier live documents—boasting a rich, heavy low end that makes it feel as though the entire venue has been perfectly preserved in time! The Tokyo recording is also crystal clear and spot-on! As a bonus, the Tokyo set includes a pro-shot DVD from their 2005 Summer Sonic performance (3 tracks), while the Osaka set comes with a DVD of their 2006 show at Jones Beach, NY, featuring excellent, well-zoomed camera work!
The setlists and arrangements vary significantly between each show, making this tour an absolute treat for die-hard fans! The performances are truly phenomenal—simply mind-blowing! There are so many highlights that it’s impossible to list them all, but the Tokyo show on the 20th was the only one on this tour to feature "The Wretched," "Even Deeper," "The Big Come Down," and "Star Fuckers, Inc." During the Osaka show on the 23rd, Trent was in high spirits, treating the crowd to a rare cover—a song seldom heard these days—"Get Down, Make Love"! The band’s energy is off the charts! Finally, the Osaka show on the 24th—the tour finale—delivered the ultimate excitement and a stellar performance! The night even included some lighthearted moments, such as jokes shared via an interpreter and a group sing-along for keyboardist Alessandro’s birthday! With these three items, you can listen to almost all the songs performed on this tour!! I can confidently say that for any fan, these are essential, must-have memorial items!!
