This recording captures the first night of Michael Schenker's 2012 Japan tour, held on March 29 at Nakano Sunplaza Hall in Tokyo. The "Temple of Rock" tour, launched in February following the release of the album of the same name, featured a rotating lineup of musicians; while Robin McAuley handled vocals on the legs of the tour prior to the Japan visit, Michael Voss took over for the Japanese dates. The band was composed largely of former members of the Scorpions and UFO. The setlist was a treat for fans, blending classic hits with new material, including a performance of "Hangin' On" from the *Temple of Rock* album. The performance itself is flawless; what is particularly striking is seeing Michael Schenker performing with such freedom and evident enjoyment. Fueled by the audience's enthusiastic energy and the band's own high spirits, they deliver a magnificent concert. The audio—an audience recording—is incredibly powerful; thanks to the venue's renowned acoustics and the excellent recording position, the sound is remarkably well-balanced. As a bonus, the release includes four songs from the March 8th show in Foxboro, Massachusetts (part of the US tour preceding their Japan visit)—tracks that were not performed at the Tokyo concert.
