The HIStory Tour is widely considered the best of Michael Jackson's live tours.
It was through this tour—comprising 82 concerts across Europe, Africa, Asia, Oceania, and the Americas—that Michael Jackson cemented his status as a global superstar and etched himself permanently into the hearts of fans everywhere.
Now, pro-shot footage from that tour has surfaced!
While the recording is incomplete, this release features a superior version that includes segments missing from previous releases (notably "Heal The World"), captured directly from the leaked source.
Although the entrance sequence prior to "Scream" is missing, this particular show is notable for the absence of Jennifer Batten, the iconic female guitarist known for her spiky hair.
Interestingly, her absence results in a less rock-oriented sound, allowing the funky guitar work to stand out and creating a unique vibe for the performance.
This also marked Michael's first-ever concert in Africa, where he performed confidently before a crowd of 60,000.
While his vocal condition is slightly shaky in the first half, he delivers such solid vocals in the second half that one might even wonder if he is lip-syncing. Since this is from the first leg, the performance of the rare tracks "Come Together" and "D.S." is not to be missed.
