This release captures Metallica's performance at the Metro in Chicago, IL, on September 20, 2021—part of their US tour that kicked into high gear that month. With a venue capacity of only around 1,000 people, the intense energy and motivation shared between the band and the audience come through directly. While Metallica typically performs in stadium-sized venues, this recording vividly conveys the atmosphere and the palpable sense of being right there in the room. The performance itself is superb—as one would expect—captivating the listener from start to finish. It is a magnificent concert. The audio is an audience recording derived from a high-quality source; thanks to an excellent recording position, the sound is consistently clear and immediate throughout, allowing for a truly enjoyable listening experience.
