This release features a live performance by Deep Purple from their 2005 USA tour, recorded on July 2nd at Davis Park in Rockford, IL. The tour took place following the release of the album *Rapture of the Deep*, and the performance is consistently high-tempo and powerful—most notably, vocalist Ian Gillan’s voice is in excellent form. The band delivers a high-energy set that long-time fans will thoroughly enjoy. Leslie West (of the band Mountain) appears as a guest, engaging in a fantastic guitar battle with Steve Morse. As a bonus, 11 tracks from a 2007 performance in Switzerland are included, sourced from a soundboard (SBD) recording. The sound quality is excellent and consistent, as it is sourced from a soundboard (SBD) recording.
