This DVD features a pro-shot recording of a Deep Purple performance from the 1996 "Purpendicular" tour, held on September 15 at the NSC Olimpiyskiy in Kyiv, Ukraine. This lineup—the band's eighth—includes guitarist Steve Morse, and the tour followed the release of *Purpendicular*, the first studio album to feature him. Steve’s arrival brought stability to the band, and the performance captured here shows the group in high spirits; the playing—particularly by Steve Morse and Jon Lord—is exceptional. While not a complete, start-to-finish recording of the show, it offers a highly compelling and substantial performance. The footage is sourced from a pro-shot master; as the original source was in an analog, non-widescreen format, the image is presented with a blurred, widescreen-filling background. Through the application of modern restoration techniques, the footage now offers a stable, high-quality viewing experience.
