This release features the complete recording of the concert held on June 2, 1986, at the Hammersmith Odeon in London, UK, starring Ray Gillen—who was brought in as a replacement to continue the tour after Glenn Hughes was fired following only a few shows. While soundboard recordings from this date (sourced from broadcasts) have been released previously, they unfortunately only contained about nine songs; given the superb quality of the performance, that was a great pity. This release, however, captures the entire show with astonishing sound quality, offering excellent balance between instruments and a wonderfully stable, expansive soundstage. Having performed for about three months since their first show on March 29, Gillen had fully integrated into Black Sabbath—performing with a sense of ease rather than like a mere substitute. With the band having settled into a groove, Tony Iommi plays with sharp precision, and the group delivers a powerful, cohesive performance overall. The concert is rich in content, featuring individual solos from the band members. Recordings from Ray Gillen's tenure are extremely rare, making this arguably the best document of a live performance from his time with the band.
