This release captures a performance by Billy Sheehan’s band, Talas, at Jupiter Hall (Crossgates Mall) in Albany, NY, on March 13, 2019. Talas—the band where Billy Sheehan’s musical journey began—was formed in his hometown of Buffalo in 1972; the group served as a springboard for his later career, which included his time in the David Lee Roth band. This recording showcases a heavy, powerful sound, anchored by Billy’s dynamic bass playing. Throughout the set, it is clear that Billy himself is completely relaxed and genuinely enjoying the performance. It is an essential release for any Billy Sheehan fan—a highly entertaining show from start to finish. The sound quality is derived from an audience recording using a high-quality source; given the relatively small size of the venue, the recording offers a consistent, high-fidelity experience characterized by a strong sense of immediacy and clarity.
