"Headless Hawk"—a premier jazz collectors' label—joins the "Necromancer Series," which officially reissues rare titles from handmade labels originally produced by collectors for collectors. These rare titles are now available again at an affordable price, featuring a reissue emblem and a newly designed back cover.

This is a live recording from the era when Jaco Pastorius was a member of Weather Report. The tracks up to Disc 2, Track 3 are sourced from a soundboard recording, while the subsequent songs are supplemented by an audience recording to create a complete version. While the soundboard section offers good audio quality, there is some slight, distracting buzzing noise. The audience section is a step down in quality from the soundboard portion, but both parts offer sound quality that collectors will find thoroughly enjoyable. This period marked a relatively stable time for the band—which often saw fluid lineup changes beyond the core duo of Wayne Shorter and Joe Zawinul—and is arguably the era most beloved by fans, thanks to the presence of Jaco Pastorius. It is also reassuring to hear the stability provided by Peter Erskine taking over drum duties from Alex Acuña.
