Sonata Arctica, giants of the melodic speed metal scene, returned to Japan for the first time in about two and a half years to tour behind their new album, *Unia*!
This release features a complete recording of the final show of the 2007 Japan tour—held on July 22nd in Tokyo—captured with impeccable, high-fidelity sound quality that delivers incredible power and an immersive live atmosphere!
Due to military service obligations, guitarist Jani Liimatainen could not participate in this tour; instead, support guitarist Elias stepped in. Elias is a virtuoso whose skills might even surpass Jani's—a truly surprising talent!
The setlist focuses on tracks from the new album while interspersing the band's greatest hits. Tony’s vocals are in top form, and the crowd goes wild for the band's signature, entertaining performance!
While the setlist remains largely the same, the Osaka encore featured a special moment where Tony sang the Finnish national anthem a cappella in response to fan requests.
