This recording captures the final show of the 1980 Japan Tour at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, which followed the release of the album *There and Back* on December 18, 1980. Coming off the massive success of the all-instrumental albums *Blow by Blow* and *Wired*, this recording allows you to fully enjoy a high-energy Jeff Beck performance in Japan. As it was the tour's final night, the band plays with tremendous intensity right from the start, delivering a thrilling first half that leaves the listener breathless. Above all, this captures Jeff Beck at his peak—radiating immense power and high-voltage energy from thirty years ago. While it is unfortunate that there is a skip in the audio during the second half (likely due to a tape change), Jeff Beck seems satisfied with the performance, delivering a spirited vocal turn on the final track, "Going Down." Regarding sound quality: although it is an audience recording, the fidelity is remarkable for a thirty-year-old tape, offering a clear, well-balanced mix where the instruments and the crowd can be heard distinctly.
