This release features audio and video from the opening night of Eric Clapton's 2003 Japan tour, held at the Hiroshima Green Arena on November 15th. The 2003 tour covered eight locations—ranging from Hokkaido in the north to Hiroshima in the south—marking the most extensive regional tour of Japan in his career to date, even though no performances took place in Kyushu. Although this was the tour's opening night, Clapton required no "warm-up" period; he delivered a truly magnificent performance. The setlist was well-balanced, featuring signature songs from his Cream and Derek and the Dominos eras alongside his solo hits, making it a thoroughly enjoyable experience for fans. Clapton himself appeared very relaxed, performing each song with care and deliberation, resulting in a superb show. While numerous bootleg recordings of Clapton's Japan tours exist, most originate from major cities like Tokyo and Osaka; recordings from regional cities like Hiroshima are rarely seen on the market. Although this is an audience recording, the sound quality is excellent—clear and free from crowd interference—allowing for a stable and enjoyable listening experience throughout, with the rhythm section and other instruments clearly audible. The final track, a rendition of Judy Garland's "Over the Rainbow," was part of the setlist during this period and is performed beautifully. This release includes video footage from the same show; while it does not appear to have been filmed by a professional bootleg label, the quality is surprisingly clear. Despite some minor image instability and angle shifts, the overall picture quality is high enough to fully enjoy the Hiroshima performance through the visuals alone. Just as with the audio, video bootlegs from Japan tours are usually dominated by Tokyo and Osaka footage, making this Hiroshima recording a rare find that is seldom seen on the market.
