This collector’s CD captures the live performance at the Nagoya City Public Hall on January 26, 1984—the second day of Alcatraz’s first-ever Japan tour. Featuring the future charismatic guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen, this powerful live performance differed from their RAINBOW era. Unlike previous tours, this first visit to Japan consisted of only three shows. At the time, Graham Bonnet was not in top form, and the Japanese shows were not highly regarded. However, on the second night of the tour in Nagoya, both his vocal condition and the band members’ nerves had settled, the performance came together very well overall. Graham Bonnet’s signature high-energy vocals and Yngwie Malmsteen’s lightning-fast guitar solos—played with perfect timing—really shine. This recording captures the Japanese tour at its peak, with the audience’s excitement and the sense of unity between the band and the crowd at their absolute best. Although the sound quality is an audience recording and there are some slight fluctuations, it remains stable throughout. In particular, Yngwie Malmsteen’s guitar solos are captured clearly, allowing you to fully enjoy ALCATRAZZ w/ Yngwie Malmsteen’s one and only performance in Japan.
