This release combines two live shows performed at CBGB in 1978. While the banter between songs has been edited out, the musical performances from both shows are included in their entirety. Both recordings are audience-sourced; the March 17th show captures the vocals with powerful immediacy, while the March 25th recording—originally slightly muffled—has been remastered to bring out the vocals as clearly as possible. Both offer excellent sound quality that perfectly captures the venue's electric atmosphere and the band's fiery performances.
The band is legendary in the punk scene for its innovative sound—featuring saxophone—and the vocals of Polly, who was a teenager at the time of formation and was often described as a female Johnny Rotten.
