This release features a complete recording of the May 19th Tokyo show (the final date) in excellent sound quality, alongside the May 17th Nagoya show (the second date) in superb sound quality, capturing the legendary guitar genius Uli Jon Roth’s miraculous return to Japan after 23 years!
You can fully enjoy Uli’s spectacular guitar work on both discs. From the opening "Sky Overture," his playing—performed on his uniquely developed "Sky Guitar"—is both lyrical and powerful! The backing band is also top-notch, featuring heavyweights like Don Airey and Barry Sparks!
The setlist is a comprehensive retrospective of his career, featuring tracks like Electric Sun’s "Still So Many Lives Away" and Zeno’s "Eastern Sun"! The furious Scorpions medley in the middle of the set is also incredible (including recreations of *Tokyo Tapes* material, etc.)! The album is packed with highlights, including Tommy Heart's vocals and Ailey's guitar solos—which are a real treat, featuring nods to phrases from Rainbow and more. With elements ranging from Jimi Hendrix-style playing to classical-inspired passages, this truly magnificent performance is an absolute must-listen!
