September 25, 1976.
Four boys gathered in the kitchen of Larry Mullen Jr.’s home in Dublin.
In the half-century since that small first step, U2 has remained at the pinnacle of the rock world—a miraculous, singular entity that has never once undergone a change in its lineup.

On September 25, 2026—the band’s 50th anniversary—they didn’t perform on a massive stadium stage. Instead, they returned to their roots: the gymnasium of their old school, where they first met, and "Bewley’s," a café in the heart of the city.

This release presents the full performance from the "Bewley’s" portion of this two-part surprise show. Through the label’s exclusive "demix & remaster" process, the audio has been polished to the absolute limit, resulting in a definitive, high-quality listening experience. Looking down at the local crowd gathered below, the band unleashed their sound with an intensity reminiscent of The Beatles’ "rooftop concert." It served as proof that, no matter how massive they have become over the past 50 years, their essence remains that of the very same band that first formed in Dublin.

From the raw, primal energy of "I Will Follow" to the massive, collective singalong of "40"—performed as an impromptu encore in response to the crowd below—this surprise performance swept the entire street into a whirlwind of emotion. It is, quite literally, a must-see and must-hear event.

For 50 years, these four men have weathered hardships together, supported one another, and continuously pushed the boundaries of their art. Their music is not merely a collection of career milestones; it is a testament to an unbreakable bond.
The journey that began in the heat of a kitchen has now evolved into an enduring rock legend, echoing far and wide across the Dublin sky.

This is an essential release—in a league of its own compared to the many other recordings of this same day that have circulated—so don’t miss out.
