This is a live recording from the October 28, 1976, Seattle, Washington show by The Tommy Bolin Band—the solo tour undertaken by the young guitar genius Tommy Bolin after leaving Deep Purple. Ironically, he met his tragic end just a month and a half after this tour. While his time in Deep Purple saw him constantly compared to Ritchie Blackmore and spiraling into drug addiction, this recording captures him playing with genuine freedom and brilliance alongside like-minded bandmates. Recordings of Tommy from his post-Purple era are rare and often undervalued, but this release showcases performances that feel like the "real" Tommy—featuring the fusion of jazz and rock that defined his unique style. It offers a chance to fully appreciate a performance that suggests he would have achieved massive success had he pursued a career as a solo artist instead of joining Deep Purple.
