In recent years, the digitization of "Mike Millard tapes"—recordings made by the legendary taper Mike Millard, renowned among fans for his exceptional audience recording skills—has been progressing rapidly, utilizing either the original masters or low-generation tapes. While this label has released multiple titles based on these newly digitized Millard tapes, you may have noticed two distinct categories: the "Brushed Mike Millard Tape" series and the "Legendary Mike Millard Tape" series. Not all Millard tapes offer perfect sound quality; some require significant work to improve the audio, and these heavily enhanced versions make up the "Brushed" series. Conversely, the "Legendary" series consists of recordings that were already near-perfect—leaving little room for sonic improvement—and thus received only minimal editing, such as adjustments between tracks.

This release features a 1989 live performance by The Who, presented in the "Legendary" series.
The sound quality is truly superb, fully living up to the "Legendary" name. Minimal processing has been applied to reduce hiss and clarify muffled sections. Although the official double album *Join Together* was released to commemorate The Who's 25th-anniversary tour, this title offers a much more comprehensive experience, spanning three discs. It is an excellent release that allows you to enjoy the complete 25th-anniversary tour performance, featuring a lavish lineup that includes a brass section.
