The infamous "Rainbow" concert was indeed recorded in London in January 1974. The reliable *NME* (New Musical Express) reported in its February 2, 1974 issue: "Wonder's Rainbow gigs last Thursday were recorded by Tamla Motown for subsequent release as a live album, and Stevie has already been in the studios to start mixing the tapes." However, in their August 23, 1975 issue, they wrote: "Several projects have been mooted; his Rainbow gigs last year were recorded for possible release, but it is understood the tapes were not technically up to standard." This is a reissue of the acclaimed Stevie Wonder bootleg *FUNKAFIED RAINBOW*.

This is a renewed release of *FUNKAFIED RAINBOW*, a title widely regarded as the greatest Stevie Wonder bootleg CD—one that continued to draw inquiries long after stocks had run out. While the exact date of the concert is uncertain, we have listed it as a 1974 performance, remaining faithful to the original release.

The artwork has been refreshed while preserving the atmosphere of the original. Although the title includes the word "Remastered," minimal equalization was applied, as the original recording already boasted superb sound quality. I simply separated the introductory section preceding "Higher Ground" on Disc 1 into its own track and added a bit of body to the mid-range frequencies.
