This release from the Temptation label features the soundboard recording of the DNA Lounge aftershow from the Act I Tour. It is a legendary performance that went ahead despite the artist suffering from throat trouble. While there are some issues with sound quality, the original monaural soundboard master was used as the source for all tracks except "Gold Nigga" and the "Act I" bonus tracks; audience recordings were used for those specific tracks. All songs underwent an analog-to-digital transfer using 24-bit Super Bit Mapping. Regarding sound quality issues: recurring feedback occurs throughout tracks 1–3. At the 2:25 mark of track 2, there is a skip/glitch caused by the sound engineer adjusting cabling equipment. Between tracks 3 and 4, the beginning of "Gold Nigga" fades out because the sound engineer disconnected the equipment. Track 4 is an audience recording. At the 1:39 mark of Track 14, there is a noise glitch caused by the sound technician adjusting a cable connected to the equipment.

Most of Disc 2 consists of an audience recording of the main show. On "The Morning Paper," Prince sings in a lower register, revealing that he is experiencing vocal trouble.
