By the time this concert took place on May 11, 1981, at the Cleveland Music Hall in Cleveland, Ohio, Ozzy Osbourne’s "Blizzard of Ozz Tour '81" had been underway for about eight months. Despite some changes in the rhythm section, the tour served as a showcase for the blossoming talent of young guitarist Randy Rhoads; this recording brilliantly captures the band's tight cohesion and the polished nature of the tour. The chemistry with Randy is superb, and while a hint of tension is palpable, the band delivers a meticulous, error-free performance. Perhaps driven by the pressure of their first US tour, they deliver a show that stands as a textbook example of hard rock.
