The first release from Cloudburst Records! A compilation of two performances capturing Oasis in their early days in 1994!
As the inaugural release from Cloudburst Records—a label dedicated to Oasis—this highly anticipated title compiles rare live performances from 1994.
Included here are the Gleneagles show, performed to showcase the band to Sony executives just before their debut, and the Glastonbury Festival performance, which took place only two months after their debut and marked a pivotal moment in early Oasis history. Naturally, both shows are presented in their entirety.
While recordings of these two performances have circulated previously, this release allows you to enjoy them anew, utilizing the latest, refined audio sources.
First up is the Gleneagles performance from just before their debut.
There are two main mixes of this show in existence. One was mixed by Owen Morris for promotional purposes aimed at industry insiders; this version is known for having been reused later as the B-side to "Live Forever."
The other is a rough mix with minimal audio processing.
For this release, we have naturally chosen the Owen Morris mix, which offers superior sound quality.
In the sources that have been widely circulated, there was a section during "Shakermaker" where the audio dropped out significantly; for this release, we have patched in audio from a different source to fully repair that distracting gap. The spoken intro has also been restored using the rough mix version previously released on the band's official YouTube channel, resulting in a more complete presentation.
This historic performance, capturing Oasis before their official debut, is now revived with superior sound quality and a level of polish never heard before.
It is truly remarkable to witness such a commanding performance from a band that had yet to make its debut!
One is struck by the presence they exuded—even as an unknown new act—hinting at the meteoric rise that lay ahead. This is the definitive document of their early days, perfectly encapsulating the charm of early Oasis.
Another highlight is the Glastonbury Festival performance.
While Glastonbury is known today as one of the world's largest festivals, at that time, Oasis was still playing on the smaller NME Stage.
This release features the complete performance they delivered just two months after their debut!
The foundation for this release is the high-quality broadcast source used when the BBC rebroadcast the show during the 2020 pandemic.
We took it a step further by using AI separation technology to isolate and remix individual instruments. By slightly toning down the drums—which were somewhat overpowering in the original mix—and bringing the guitars to the forefront, we achieved a more balanced and, above all, more listenable sound; the difference in audio quality is striking.
Just two months after their debut, the band had already evolved significantly since the Gleneagles show. This performance stands as a crucial record, marking the path toward their massive breakthrough.
Gleneagles, brimming with raw, youthful energy; and Glastonbury, where their rapid growth became evident.
1994: the year they began their race toward global stardom—back when "Oasis" was not yet the "Oasis" the world would come to know.
This release compiles these two precious performances with state-of-the-art audio refinement.
The debut release from Cloudburst Records—an essential title for fans of early Oasis.
