A newly unearthed, first-ever appearance of a soundboard recording from Mott the Hoople, circa 1970! This release captures their performance at the legendary British rock festival, "Medicine Ball Caravan." The recording comes from the personal archives of Bob Matthews—the sound engineer for the Grateful Dead, who were originally slated to headline the festival before their appearance was cancelled. It is a pristine stereo soundboard recording, marking another significant archival discovery following the recent release of similar material from The Faces. This rare live recording documents the band during their bluesy hard-rock era—predating their work with David Bowie—and features standout guitar work from Mick Ralphs, who would later go on to achieve fame with Bad Company. A must-hear, newly discovered live performance!
