This release features the 1971 Brussels performance. A mono soundboard recording of this show had circulated previously; while mono, it was a popular source due to its soundboard origin and the brilliance of the performance. This new release, however, is sourced from a broadcast that aired this year (2026). Not only does the sound quality far surpass the old source, but it is also a perfectly separated stereo soundboard recording. The label has applied its own remastering to refine the tone and boost the impact; the stereo imaging has been adjusted, and radio DJ commentary—which previously overlapped slightly—has been seamlessly edited out.
This was a period where one could fully appreciate Keith Jarrett’s dual-instrument work on electronic organ and Fender Rhodes piano. It was also a rare and valuable era featuring the funky drumming of Leon "Ndugu" Chancler.
With outstanding performance and sound quality, this is a "must-have" item that is essential listening for both hardcore fans and newcomers alike.
